Scheduling Your Server Move

On the day you are scheduled, you will need:

• A 4-hour window when you will not be updating your website. There is no downtime, we just need that window to make sure nothing is changed on the old server after we have migrated your files to the new server
• Access to your domain registrar (i.e. GoDaddy, Network Solutions, Register.com, etc.). Make sure you can login with the username and password you have. If we have access to your domain, we will let you know when we confirm the schedule.
• Access to your email program (i.e. Outlook Gmail, Thunderbird, etc.)

We will migrate your files to the new server, update WordPress, themes, and plugins, and then test the site on the new server. Once that is complete we will provide the information needed to change your domain record so it points to the new server.  The domain change portion itself takes about 5 minutes. If you are unsure, we can set up a Zoom with you and screen share so we can walk you through it. Or, you can temporarily share login information with us.  The choice is yours.

We are scheduling moves for the remainder of the month of August now. We schedule no more than 5 moves per day in advance. If a date is filled, it will not be available to you.  If you have to have a specific date that is already full on the calendar, please contact Beth (beth@imediaconsult.com).
